Redress package agreed for consumers mis-sold CPP insurance products

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has reached an agreement with Card Protection Plan Limited (CPP) and 13 high street banks and credit card issuers that will facilitate the payment of redress to customers who were mis-sold CPP’s Card Protection and Identity Protection policies. CPP and the banks and credit card issues have voluntarily agreed to be part of the Scheme of Arrangement, reflecting the fact that through introducing customers to CPP’s products, the latter must share responsibility. Customer and High Court approval must be secured before the Scheme can happen.
