The European parliament has adopted a package of legislative acts to set up a single supervisory mechanism (SSM). It contains a Council Regulation giving specific financial stability and banking supervision tasks to the European Central Bank (ECB), and a Regulation of the European Parliament and Council designed to align Regulation 1093/2010 on the establishment of the European Banking Authority (EBA) to the modified framework.
