Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that green growth and environmental issues will be on the agenda at the G20 Leaders’ Summit. In a statement, the Russian President observed that ensuring sustainable growth, curbing emissions and the rational treatment of waste are now at the centre of the global political agenda and will likely be addressed at the Summit. Russia currently holds the presidency of the G20 Leaders Summit, which will be held in St. Petersburg on 5 September 2013.
