G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors hold meeting in Washington D.C.

G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held the concluding meeting within Russia’s G20 Presidency, in Washington D.C. The meeting focused on recent developments in the global economy and financial sector vulnerabilities, international financial architecture reform, financing for investment, and decisions made at September’s G20 Leaders’ Summit. Participants noted that developed countries are regaining the status of the ‘driving force’ in global growth, singling out the Japanese economy for praise as it responds to enhanced monetary and fiscal measures. The G20 members also reiterated their concern about undesirable effects and risks of the quantitative easing still conducted by some countries that is known to have cause the recent global financial crisis.
