Former Royal Bank of Canada employee jailed for insider trading

A former banking associate at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has been sentenced to 23 months in jail. Mr John Kay Jin Khoo pleaded guilty to a total of four charges of communicating inside information. Mr Khoo gained inside information while working at RBC on proposed acquisitions of Macarthur Coal Limited, Caldeon Resources PLC and Mantra Resources Pty Ltd. Mr Khoo communicated the inside information to two other people.
