CP13/10 – Detailed proposals for the FCA regime for consumer credit

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is consulting on the detailed proposals for how it will take over the regulation of the consumer credit industry from the Office of Fair Trading on 1 April 2014. The consultation follows a previous consultation on the framework for the regime and includes now proposed requirements. This includes a set of interventions in the high-cost short-term credit market aimed at ensuring lenders pay more attention to responsible lending.
