Businessman convicted for managing corporation while disqualified

Mr Nahi Nasri Gazal has been convicted after pleading guilty to charges of managing a corporation while disqualified. Mr Gazal was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment and released subject to a 10 month good behaviour bond. ASIC disqualified Mr Gazal from managing a corporation in January 2007 following an investigation into his involvement in six failed companies, which were wound up owing creditors over $13 million. Between 17 December 2007 and 9 June 2010, Mr Gazal acted as the chief executive officer of two companies while disqualified: Gazal Telecom Pty Ltd and Gazal Telecom Australia Pty Ltd.
