ASIC Commissioner Greg Tanzer has delivered a speech on ASIC’s regulation of Self Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) at the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia National SMSF Conference 2013. Mr Tanzer identified the SMSF sector as a growing rapidly with more Australians than ever before either considering or operating an SMSF. Mr Tanzer’s speech focussed on the critically role of gatekeepers in the SMSF sector, ASIC’s review of the quality of advice provided to SMSF investors, and ASIC’s consultation paper on additional disclosure and costs.
