Consumer Protection Issues for Digital Financial Services

The Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Pacific Islands Regional Initiative (PIRI) conducted a three-day regulatory capacity building training on consumer protection 18-20 November in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, to improve technical knowledge and understanding on important issues required to implement enabling market conduct policies and regulations.

Professor Ross Buckley of UNSW Australia discussed the importance of ensuring consumer protection regulation cover innovative business models, particularly in the area of digital financial services.
