The International Actuarial Association (IAA) and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The IAA is a worldwide association of actuarial associations with members in 83 countries that represents 98% of the actuarial profession.

The MOU is designed to create a framework for cooperation that will enable each organisation to benefit from common areas of activity and pursue their respective goals with minimal duplication. The parties aim to achieve these ends by fostering and maintaining an understanding of activities of mutual interest through attending working party meetings and facilitating communication between staff and members across the organisations, and producing mutually beneficial output or publications.
